Job summary

fomo is seeking a hands-on Controller to build its accounting function from the ground up. Reporting to the VP of Finance, you will own end-to-end accounting operations and ensure the integrity of financial records for a fast-growing fintech.

You will shape the accounting organization, implement systems, manage audits, tax compliance, and collaborate with Legal, Operations, Product, Engineering, and People to support strategic decisions.

Qualifications

• CPA is required or equivalent international certification.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience building accounting processes and controls from early stage."
• Experience in a high-growth fintech/web3/trading environment.
• Hands-on, low-ego leadership style.

Responsibilities

• Build the accounting function, close processes, policies, controls, and systems.
• Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close with accurate reporting.
• Manage GL, AP/AR, cash, payroll, fixed assets, and vendor processes.
• Develop accounting treatment for digital-asset activity and treasury movements.
• Lead ERP and subledger implementation and ongoing administration.
• Maintain financial controls and policies for a high-growth fintech.
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and valuation firms.
• Ensure tax compliance across jurisdictions with external advisors.
• Collaborate with Legal, Ops, Product, Eng, and People on new initiatives.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and investor reporting.
