Job summary

Ascape Landscape and Construction is seeking an experienced Controller to lead financial reporting, compliance and analysis for a growing landscape construction and maintenance company.

The Controller will direct financial statements, internal controls and tax filings, while developing systems to improve profitability. You will manage staff, collaborate with the leadership team, and drive strategic financial decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, managerial finance, business administration or related field.
• 5+ years in finance or accounting positions, including 3+ years managing accounting staff.
• In-depth experience with GAAP and FASB; demonstrated payroll management.
• High proficiency with MS Office and job costing technologies; knowledge of integrated accounting systems.

Responsibilities

• Directing the preparation of financial statements and the financial analysis of the organization.
• Managing compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements, internal controls and tax filings.
• Creating and analyzing reports to identify opportunities to improve financial results or address risk.
• Developing systems and processes to improve division and company results.
• Leading, coaching and developing the accounting team members.
• Serving as a collaborative and strategic member of the leadership team.

We offer a compensation package with significant earning potential and career growth opportunities. This includes an annual salary of $110,000-$120,000/annually commensurate with experience, with opportunity for growth. We also offer health benefits after 90 days, and a 401k with a 4% employer match, paid time off, and vacation time.

The following education, skills and experience are required for the Controller role:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, managerial finance, business administration or related field;
• 5+ years of experience in finance or accounting positions, including 3+ years of experience managing accounting staff;
• In-depth experience and knowledge of accounting principles/theories (GAAP, FASB);
• Demonstrated experience managing internal payroll operations;
• High Proficiency with MS Office and job costing technologies;
• Knowledge and experience with integrated accounting systems.
