Lakeside HR Group has been engaged by our client to recruit for a Controller to join their team. Our client is a well-established and growing organization that provides specialized services supporting infrastructure, environmental, and natural resource projects. Known for its collaborative culture and commitment to long-term sustainability, the company partners with public and private clients to deliver impactful projects that strengthen communities and preserve valuable resources.
Our client is seeking a hands‑on, technically strong Controller to lead the accounting function and ensure the accuracy, integrity and timely completion of financial reporting across multiple business entities.
As the senior accounting leader within the organization reporting to the CFO, the Controller will have direct ownership of the month‑end close process and oversee accounting across three business entities, including intercompany activity and consolidations. This individual will also provide leadership and technical guidance to a small accounting team.
This is an opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys being close to the work. The successful candidate will bring strong accounting fundamentals, attention to detail and the ability to take ownership of the entire close process rather than simply overseeing it. As the organization continues to grow, the Controller will also play an important role in strengthening accounting processes and supporting future acquisitions and integration activities.
The ideal Controller is someone who takes ownership of the accounting function and understands that accuracy is in the details. This person will be comfortable digging into the books, asking questions and ensuring the entire close process is completed correctly.
They will bring the confidence and accounting expertise to lead a developing team while remaining approachable, collaborative and willing to work alongside them. As the company grows, this individual should also be able to strengthen processes and bring greater structure and scalability to the accounting function.
