Our client is a growing organization operating in a capital-intensive environment where disciplined accounting, scalable processes, and reliable financial reporting are increasingly important to the next stage of the business. They are seeking a hands-on Controller who can strengthen the accounting foundation while leading the team through continued growth. This is an opportunity for an experienced CPA to take meaningful ownership of reporting, technical accounting, controls, capital assets, and process improvement while partnering closely with senior finance and operational leadership.

Focus:
- Direct monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities while improving the accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of financial reporting.
- Guide accounting treatment for complex transactions involving revenue, deferred revenue, leases, debt, intercompany activity, and other material arrangements.
- Oversee reconciliations, accruals, journal activity, financial statements, and supporting schedules to maintain strong reporting standards.
- Develop practical accounting policies, internal controls, approval structures, and documentation that support continued organizational growth.
- Lead fixed asset and capital project accounting, including construction in progress, capitalization decisions, depreciation, and related reconciliations.
- Coordinate external audit and tax activities while maintaining organized, complete, and audit-ready financial records.
- Improve accounting systems and workflows through standardization, ERP optimization, automation, and reduced dependence on manual processes.
- Lead and develop accounting professionals while partnering across the organization on budgeting, forecasting, analysis, and financial decision support.
Skill Set:
- Active CPA license and bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 8 or more years of progressive accounting experience, including Controller, Assistant Controller, or comparable accounting leadership responsibilities.
- Experience within data centers, infrastructure, real estate, construction, telecommunications, energy, technology, or another capital-intensive industry.
- Strong command of U.S. GAAP and demonstrated ownership of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close and reporting.
- Strong practical experience managing complex accounting activities, including income recognition, timing-related balances, period-end adjustments, ledger reconciliations, and preparation of financial reports.
- Experience managing fixed assets, construction in progress, capitalization policies, depreciation, and accounting for significant capital investments.
- Proven ability to establish or strengthen accounting policies, procedures, internal controls, and supporting documentation.
- Strong people leadership and communication skills combined with a hands-on approach to accounting operations and problem solving.
