Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the company’s accounting and financial reporting activities.
- Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including the P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statement.
- Ensure accurate and timely general ledger accounting, reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Develop and maintain cash flow forecasts and working capital reporting.
- Analyze financial and operational performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Partner with executive and operational leadership to provide financial insight that supports business decisions.
- Monitor revenue, expenses, margins, and profitability across the organization.
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, and other transactional accounting functions as applicable.
- Establish and maintain strong internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures.
- Coordinate annual audits and serve as a primary contact for external auditors, tax professionals, banks, and other financial partners.
- Improve accounting processes, reporting capabilities, and financial systems.
- Develop meaningful KPIs, dashboards, and management reporting.
- Support strategic initiatives, capital investments, business growth, and other special projects.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong progressive accounting and finance experience.
- Previous experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager, Finance Manager, or similar financial leadership position.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, general ledger accounting, and month‑end close.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and cash flow management.
- Ability to understand both the accounting details and the broader financial performance of the business.
- Strong Excel skills and experience working with ERP/accounting systems.
- Proven ability to improve processes, controls, and reporting.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with executives and non‑financial leaders.
- Comfortable operating in a hands‑on environment and taking ownership of the financial function.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA, CMA, MBA, or other advanced credential.
- Experience within a privately held, PE‑backed, manufacturing, distribution, construction, industrial, or similarly operational business environment.
- Experience implementing or improving ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
- Experience supporting organizations through periods of growth, transformation, or process improvement.
