Legacy Staffing Solutions, Inc. seeks a Controller to strengthen internal accounting, lead administrative and bookkeeping staff, and help grow advisory services in a public accounting environment.

Responsibilities include owning the monthly close, payroll processing, and client reporting, with emphasis on workflow improvements and staff development. This is a full-time, in-office role with peak month-end activity.

What You Bring to the Table

We are seeking a Controller with an accounting degree or comparable experience, at least 5 years of progressively responsible accounting experience that includes ownership of a monthly close and financial statement preparation, required CPA firm experience, and required supervisory experience leading administrative or accounting staff. Strong Excel skills, working knowledge of payroll and benefits administration, and discretion with confidential compensation and personnel information are essential. Experience reviewing client bookkeeping or CAS work, documenting processes, and using AI tools to improve workflows is preferred. This is a full-time, in-office role with peak demands around month-end close, partner meetings, and busy season.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own the firm’s monthly close, journal entries, general ledger review, bank reconciliations, financial statements, budget-to-actual analysis, and partner reporting
• Manage weekly AP, expense reimbursements, ACH and Positive Pay, banking controls, and line-of-credit / banking relationships
• Oversee payroll processing, tax deposits, quarterly and annual filings, 401(k) and cafeteria plan administration, and the firm’s insurance program
• Oversee billing, AR, unearned revenue, realization, and practice management reporting
• Provide technical review of staff bookkeeping work, set workpaper standards, and support growth of the client advisory services practice
• Supervise clerical, administrative, and bookkeeping staff; manage workload, coverage, vendors, and facilities; and build process documentation and cross-training
• Identify opportunities to reduce manual work through software and AI tools, then lead implementation through training and adoption
