Job summary

Ladders seeks a Controller to lead the full accounting function for a growing, venture-backed Staffing leader. You will partner with FP&A and external auditors while building scalable processes, controls, and systems to fuel growth.

This hands-on leadership role covers close, reporting, compliance, and operational accounting across a remote team. Competitive compensation is provided.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3 years in leadership roles.
• Experience in venture-backed SaaS companies, preferably Series A to C.
• CPA certification required; Big 4 or national firm experience favored.
• In-depth knowledge of GAAP and ASC 606 revenue recognition.
• Proven experience with external audits and internal control implementation.
• Proficient in accounting systems (NetSuite, Salesforce, Ramp) and Excel.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting financial data to non-finance audiences.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process for timely financial reporting.
• Direct and scale the accounting function through effective team management and development.
• Oversee daily accounting operations, including AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger.
• Ensure compliance with ASC 606 and other accounting guidance.
• Prepare GAAP-compliant financial statements and management reports.
• Manage the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors.
• Establish and enforce internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Forecast cash flow and manage banking relationships.
• Collaborate with FP&A on budgeting and variance analysis.
• Supervise tax compliance and filings.
• Lead the accounting team, fostering growth and best practices.
• Evaluate and implement accounting systems for improved efficiency.

For our client, we are seeking a Controller to join the team of a leader in the Staffing space.

This role will own the full accounting function for a growing, venture-backed business and ensure the integrity, timeliness, and accuracy of financial reporting. The Controller will partner closely with FP&A and external auditors while building scalable processes, controls, and systems to support continued growth. This is a hands‑on leadership position with broad responsibility across close, reporting, compliance, and operational accounting.

Location: Remote

Compensation: $130,000 – $150,000 annually
