Job summary

Jobot is seeking a driven Permanent Controller to join our Accounting + Finance team in a rapidly growing company with multiple locations. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in a similar role, proficiency with QuickBooks, and a solid grasp of financial statements and internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Master’s degree or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of accounting and finance experience.
• Proven experience as a Financial Controller.
• Advanced knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks.
• Experience creating financial statements and managing general ledger.
• Strong data analysis and forecasting skills.
• MS Office and financial management software proficiency.
• Ability to coach and lead accounting staff.
• Solid understanding of financial statistics and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, cost and inventory accounting, and revenue recognition.
• Coordinate and direct budget preparation, forecasts, and variances reporting.
• Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
• Coordinate preparation of regulatory reporting.
• Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes.
• Ensure quality control over financial transactions and reporting.
• Manage local, state, and federal reporting and tax filings.
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls.
• Collaborate with management to understand and mitigate financial risks.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

Master’s degree or CPA certification preferred

Our dynamic and rapidly expanding company is seeking a driven and experienced Permanent Controller to join our Accounting + Finance team. This role is integral to the financial health and growth of our organization, and we are looking for someone with a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of financial regulations and laws, and a passion for maintaining the financial integrity of a company. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role and be proficient in QuickBooks and Monthly Reporting.

Responsibilities

1. 1. Managing all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.


2. 2. Coordinating and directing the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.


3. 3. Preparing and publishing timely monthly financial statements.


4. 4. Coordinating the preparation of regulatory reporting.


5. 5. Researching technical accounting issues for compliance.


6. 6. Supporting month-end and year-end close process.


7. 7. Ensuring quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.


8. 8. Managing and complying with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.


9. 9. Developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.


10. 10. Collaborating with the management team to understand and mitigate key elements of the company's risk profile.

Qualifications

• 1. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is preferred.


• 2. A minimum of 5 years of overall combined accounting and finance experience.


• 3. Proven working experience as a Financial Controller.


• 4. Advanced knowledge of accounting and financial principles and practices.


• 5. Proficiency with accounting software, particularly QuickBooks.


• 6. Experience with creating financial statements and general ledger functions.


• 7. Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods.


• 8. Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software.


• 9. An ability to manage, guide, and lead employees to ensure appropriate financial processes are being used.


• 10. A solid understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles.


• 11. Working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations.
