Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Controller for our manufacturing operations in Wisconsin. You will own the accounting and finance function, lead the team, and partner with the President/GM on planning and performance.

The ideal candidate brings 7+ years of accounting leadership, strong GAAP knowledge, and experience with ERP systems. You will drive reporting improvements, build scalable processes, and support audits and tax filings as the business grows.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with exposure to manufacturing environments.
• Experience leading a month-end close and producing accurate financial statements.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls.
• ERP/accounting systems experience (NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Dynamics, SAP).
• Excellent communication skills and ability to partner with non-financial leaders.

Job Details

The Controller will oversee all accounting operations while partnering closely with the President/GM on financial planning, reporting, cash flow, and business performance. This person will lead the accounting team, own the month-end close, strengthen internal controls, and develop processes that can scale with the company.

The ideal candidate is both a strong technical accountant and a commercially minded business partner—someone who can dive into the details while also helping leadership understand the financial story behind the numbers.

What You'll Do

• Own the company's day-to-day accounting and finance operations
• Lead and develop the accounting team and establish clear processes and accountability
• Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
• Oversee the general ledger, AP, AR, payroll, fixed assets, and reconciliations
• Prepare and present monthly financial statements and management reporting
• Develop meaningful reporting around margins, profitability, costs, and operational performance
• Partner directly with the President/GM on budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and financial planning
• Build and maintain cash flow forecasts and proactively identify potential cash needs
• Oversee inventory accounting, costing, and inventory reconciliations
• Partner with operations and manufacturing leadership to analyze labor, material, overhead, and production costs
• Monitor manufacturing variances and identify opportunities to improve margins and profitability
• Establish and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and financial processes
• Identify opportunities to automate and improve existing accounting workflows
• Support annual audits, tax filings, banking relationships, and other external financial requirements
• Partner with outside CPAs, tax advisors, auditors, and other financial partners
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable accounting requirements
• Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic and operational decisions
• Help build the financial infrastructure necessary to support continued growth

What We're Looking For

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Prior Controller or Accounting Manager experience, ideally within a manufacturing environment
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Strong understanding of GAAP and full-cycle accounting
• Experience leading a month-end close and producing accurate financial statements
• Manufacturing accounting experience, including inventory, standard costing, COGS, and manufacturing variances
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems such as NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Dynamics, SAP, or similar
• Strong Excel skills and ability to work with large data sets
• Experience managing and developing an accounting team
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills and ability to partner with non-financial leaders
• Comfortable working in a hands-on, entrepreneurial environment
