Responsibilities

  • Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring GAAP compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain internal controls for revenue, costs, and budgets/expenditures.
  • Coordinate audit activity and liaise with external auditors.
  • Analyze financial data and present monthly, quarterly, and annual statements accurately.
  • Lead annual budgeting and planning; review financial plans vs. actuals and explain variances.
  • Manage cash flow forecasting with executive leadership; assess program operations’ financial efficacy.
  • Develop training programs to maximize team performance and reach organizational goals.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Permanent Controller to join our dynamic team in the non‑profit industry. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional with a strong background in finance, accounting, and management.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain internal control safeguards for the receipt of revenue, costs, and both team and organizational budgets and actual expenditures.
  • Coordinate all audit activity and liaise with external auditors.
  • Consistently analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Lead the annual budgeting and planning process; administer and review all financial plans and compare to actual results with a view to identify, explain, and correct variances as appropriate.
  • Manage organizational cash flow forecasting by working in partnership with the executive leadership team; continuously collaborate with team members to assess the financial efficacy of program operations and establish finance and administrative systems to support operations.
  • Leverage strengths of the current finance team members, help to clarify roles and responsibilities, and develop and implement training programs in order to maximize and reach optimal individual and organizational goals.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related discipline. A Master’s degree or CPA is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior finance role
  • Proven experience with ledger operations and annual budgeting.
  • Strong knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices, laws, standards, and state/national regulations.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to motivate and provide professional development for a high-performing team.
  • Excellent analytical and abstract reasoning skills, plus excellent organization skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
