Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced Controller to join our Accounting and Finance team in the United States. The role focuses on maintaining accounting integrity, leading monthly to annual GAAP financial reporting, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

You will supervise day-to-day finance operations and drive improvements in accounting processes. The ideal candidate has at least 5 years in senior finance, a solid GAAP background, and proficiency with accounting software and Excel.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; MBA/CPA desirable.
  • Minimum 5 years in senior finance/accounting role.
  • Proven experience with financial statements, GL functions, month-end/year-end close.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee accounting department operations and design organizational structure.
  • Lead preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual GAAP financial statements.
  • Manage day-to-day: AP, cash disbursements, invoicing/billing, collections, payroll, inventory, assets, cost accounting.
  • Coordinate corporate annual report preparation for regulatory compliance.
  • Manage cash flow and financial systems/models; assist budgeting/forecasting.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax filings, and reporting.
  • Liaise with auditors and seek cost-reduction opportunities.

Job Details

Responsibilities


  1. Overseeing the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives.

  2. Leading the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.

  3. Managing the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day activities of accounts payable, cash disbursements, invoicing/billing, customer credits and collections, payroll, perpetual inventory integrity, fixed asset records, and cost accounting.

  4. Coordinating the preparation of the corporate annual report, ensuring it complies with regulations and standards.

  5. Managing the company's cash flow, ensuring its financial security.

  6. Developing and managing financial systems/models, as well as working with management to develop annual budgets and forecasts.

  7. Ensuring the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements regarding finances, tax filings, and reporting.

  8. Liaising with auditors to ensure appropriate monitoring of company finances is maintained.

  9. Conducting reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities.

  10. Contributing to decisions regarding financial strategy.


Qualifications


  1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. An MBA, CPA, or similar qualification is highly desirable.

  2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position.

  3. Proven experience with financial statements, general ledger functions, and the month-end/year-end close process.

  4. Solid experience in risk management, along with a deep understanding of business principles and practices.

  5. Superior attention to detail; organizational and planning skills; analytical and problem-solving skills.

  6. Strong knowledge and understanding of GAAP.

  7. Proficiency in accounting software, Microsoft Office Suite, particularly MS Excel.

  8. Excellent communication and leadership skills.

  9. The ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and multitask.

  10. High level of integrity, confidentiality, and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
