Job summary

LBMC Staffing Solutions, LLC in Nashville seeks a hands-on Controller to design and build the finance infrastructure and reporting framework needed to scale with growth. You will establish monthly close processes, manage A/P, A/R, payroll, cash management, and bank reconciliations while partnering with executives and investors to deliver clear financial visibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA certification strongly preferred.
• 6–10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
• Experience as Controller or similar finance leadership role.
• Experience within insurance, financial services, professional services, or acquisition-driven organizations preferred.
• Familiarity with ERP/accounting systems such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, or similar platforms.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead the company's accounting and finance infrastructure.
• Establish monthly close processes, financial reporting, and management reporting packages.
• Implement and manage accounting systems and chart of accounts structures.
• Develop accounting policies, internal controls, and scalable financial processes.
• Oversee all core accounting activities, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Cash Management, Bank Reconciliations.
• Partner with branch-level accounting teams to ensure consistency and compliance.
• Support acquisition accounting and M&A integration activities.
• Develop financial models, forecasts, and operational analyses.
• Provide strategic financial insights to the CEO and leadership team.
• Manage relationships with auditors, tax advisors, and external partners.
• Assist in selecting and implementing future financial systems.
• Recruit, mentor, and build a growing finance and accounting team.

The Opportunity

As Controller, you will be responsible for designing and building the finance and accounting infrastructure that supports the company's next phase of growth. You will oversee all accounting and finance operations while partnering closely with executive leadership and investors to provide the financial visibility needed to scale responsibly.

What You'll Do

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field


• CPA strongly preferred


• 6-10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience


• Prior experience as a Controller, Accounting Manager, or similar finance leadership role


• Experience within insurance, financial services, professional services, or acquisition-driven organizations preferred


• Exposure to title insurance or a multi-entity/roll-up business model is highly desirable


• Strong technical accounting knowledge, including:


• Revenue recognition


• Internal controls


• General accounting operations


• Experience building processes and infrastructure in a scaling organization


• Experience managing multiple legal entities and complex reporting structures


• Familiarity with ERP/accounting systems such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, or similar platforms


• Experience supporting acquisitions, integrations, or transaction-related accounting activities is a plus


• Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with executives, investors, and board members
