Blayze Group, a private equity‑backed specialty construction platform, is seeking a Controller to lead and scale the accounting function across the platform and its operating companies. This hands‑on leadership role works closely with the CFO, operating groups, and the PE sponsor to strengthen the accounting foundation and deliver timely GAAP reporting.
The ideal candidate combines deep U.S. GAAP expertise with practical process design, multi‑entity consolidation, and team leadership.
Our client is a private equity-backed specialty construction platform focused on building a leading group of concrete and construction businesses. Through a combination of organic growth and strategic acquisitions, the company is bringing together strong local operators while building the financial, operational, and administrative infrastructure needed to support a significantly larger organization.
They are seeking a Controller to help build and lead the accounting function as the company enters its next phase of growth.
This is a hands‑on leadership role with significant exposure to the CFO, operating companies, and private equity sponsor. The Controller will be responsible for strengthening the accounting foundation across the organization, establishing scalable processes and controls, and ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting as the platform grows.
The Controller will own the day‑to‑day accounting function across the platform and its operating companies, including:
We are looking for someone who combines strong technical accounting knowledge with a willingness to get into the details and solve problems.
This position will be particularly attractive to someone who enjoys building rather than simply maintaining.
You should be comfortable moving between high‑level accounting decisions and detailed execution. On one day, you may be working with the CFO on accounting policy or an acquisition; on another, you may be digging into a reconciliation, helping resolve a WIP issue, or redesigning a close process.
The successful candidate will be:
This is an opportunity to join a growing private equity‑backed construction platform at an important point in its development and have a meaningful role in building the finance organization.
Rather than inheriting a finished accounting function, the Controller will have the opportunity to help design how accounting operates across the platform, develop the team, improve systems and processes, integrate future acquisitions, and build the financial infrastructure required to support substantial growth.
The role will work closely with the CFO and will have significant visibility across the organization.
