Job description

Compensation: Around $150,000 Base + Bonus

About the Opportunity:

If you've built your accounting career inside a manufacturing environment and are ready for more ownership, this may be worth a look. We're looking for a Controller who can bring together two sides of the accounting function:

Manufacturing / Cost Accounting

Inventory. Standard costing. Variances. COGS. Understanding what's actually happening within the manufacturing operation and how it flows through the financials.

Controllership / General Accounting

Month-end close. Balance sheet. Financial reporting. Controls. Audit. AP/AR. Leading an accounting team and owning the accuracy of the books.

You need both.

You do not need to be a CPA.

We're much more interested in someone who understands the accounting behind a manufacturing operation and has the general accounting foundation and leadership ability to take ownership of the broader accounting function.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead the month-end close and general accounting function
  • Own balance sheet reconciliations and financial reporting
  • Oversee inventory valuation and standard costing
  • Analyze manufacturing and cost variances
  • Ensure accurate COGS and inventory accounting
  • Lead and develop accounting staff
  • Oversee AP and AR
  • Support budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis
  • Partner with operational leaders to understand business performance
  • Strengthen accounting processes and internal controls
  • Participate in ERP and process-improvement initiatives
  • Work closely with senior finance leadership
What We’re Looking For

We're particularly interested in candidates coming from roles such as Controller, Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager, Cost Accounting Manager, Plant Controller, Manufacturing Controller or Senior Cost Accountant.

You may be a sitting Controller already, or you may be the person underneath the Controller who's been doing the heavy lifting and is ready for the next step.

The important part is meaningful, hands-on experience with:

  • Manufacturing accounting
  • Standard costing
  • Inventory valuation
  • Manufacturing and cost variances
  • Month-end close
  • Accounting leadership

CPA is not required.

This is a full-time, on-site opportunity on the Cape offering around $150K base plus bonus and a strong benefits package.

If you've got the manufacturing accounting background and have been wondering what the next step looks like, let's talk.
