ComplyAuto is a fast-growing RegTech SaaS company seeking a hands-on Controller to lead the finance function, partner with the CFO, and drive accuracy and efficiency across accounting processes. This remote-first role emphasizes strong internal controls, GAAP compliance, and insightful financial analysis.

Based in the Continental U.S., the Controller will guide monthly close, reporting, and tax strategy while collaborating cross-functionally to align financial goals with business growth.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 8+ years leading accounting and finance teams.
• Proficiency in GAAP and ASC 606 revenue recognition.
• Experience with audits and external auditors.
• Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsabilidades

• Lead full-cycle accounting, including monthly close, financial statements, reconciliations, and reporting commentary.
• Establish a close process delivering financial statements by the 8th business day each month.
• Ensure monthly documentation and reconciliation of all material balance sheet accounts.
• Partner with CFO to monitor performance, metrics, and trends.
• Improve systems and processes to deliver analytics and decision support.
• Maintain GAAP compliance and support external audits.
• Develop audit-ready procedures and internal controls.
• Collaborate with tax advisors on strategy and compliance.
• Oversee sales tax filings and business registrations.

We're looking for a motivated Controller to partner closely with the CFO and lead the finance function with a strong focus on accuracy, process improvement, and business insight. What You'll Do

• Lead full-cycle accounting, including monthly close, financial statements, reconciliations, and reporting commentary
• Establish and maintain a close process that delivers financial statements by the 8th business day of each month
• Ensure monthly documentation and reconciliation of all material balance sheet accounts
• Partner with the CFO to monitor business performance, evaluate metrics, and identify meaningful financial trends
• Improve accounting systems and processes to deliver better analytics and stronger decision support
• Maintain compliance with GAAP and support external audits
• Build clear, audit-ready procedures and strong internal controls
• Partner with external tax advisors on tax strategy, returns, and potential credits or savings opportunities
• Oversee timely sales tax filings, business registrations, and related compliance requirements
• Collaborate cross-functionally to align financial strategy with operational and growth goals
• Identify opportunities to increase ROI from financial systems, including the use of AI to automate manual tasks and elevate analysis

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 8+ years of experience leading accounting and finance teams
• Strong background in full-cycle accounting and monthly financial reporting
• Demonstrated expertise in GAAP and ASC 606 revenue recognition
• Experience managing audits and working with external auditors
• Working knowledge of tax matters, including sales tax and income tax
• Proficiency in financial systems; NetSuite preferred
• CPA or CMA preferred
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and tight deadlines
• High degree of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality
• Strong remote collaboration skills and willingness to travel up to 5%
