Job summary

Responsibilities

• Full ownership of month-end close, GL, AP/AR, fixed assets, and reconciliations.
• Driving automation and process improvement — replacing manual, Excel-heavy workflows.
• Establishing accounting controls in line with US GAAP, SOX, and SEC readiness ahead of an IPO.
• Managing tax processes and supporting financial audits.

StevenDouglas has been engaged on a fantastic Controller career opportunity in Houston, Texas. This role also offers a future realistic path to the CAO seat.

Reporting to VP of Finance and Accounting, this role will lead the accounting function end-to-end, with 6–7 direct reports. There's a clear path toward a CAO-track promotion as the company scales toward IPO.

• CPA required
