Job summary

Atlas Search, a rapidly growing PE-backed organization, seeks an experienced Controller to lead its U.S. accounting operations. The role will oversee the close process, GAAP compliance, and internal controls across multiple entities in a fast‑growing environment.

You will manage a multi-functional accounting team, drive ASC 606 revenue recognition and project-based accounting, and partner with senior finance and operational leaders to scale the business.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• 5+ years managing accounting teams across GL, AR/Billing, and AP.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial controls.
• Hands-on experience with percentage-of-completion/project-based accounting.
• Experience in a multi-entity, multi-location environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead U.S. accounting operations across GL, AR/Billing, and AP.
• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Manage and develop a multi-functional accounting team.
• Oversee balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany accounting, accruals, fixed assets, and financial reporting.
• Lead ASC 606 revenue recognition, including contract review and percentage-of-completion accounting.
• Oversee project-based revenue and cost accruals, contract assets/liabilities, and related controls.
• Manage billing, collections, cash application, vendor payments, and working capital processes.
• Maintain strong U.S. GAAP compliance, accounting policies, and internal controls.
• Coordinate annual audits and work with external auditors, tax advisors, and other service providers.
• Support the accounting integration of acquired businesses and standardization of processes across multiple entities.
• Drive process improvement, automation, and greater scalability across the accounting organization.
• Partner closely with senior finance and operational leadership.
