Job summary

LHH is seeking a hands-on Controller to lead day-to-day accounting operations and strengthen the accounting infrastructure as the business scales. You will manage GL, AP, AR, month-end close, and financial reporting across a multi-entity landscape while mentoring the accounting team.

The ideal candidate has 15+ years in accounting, deep experience with ASC 842 lease accounting, ERP systems, and a proven ability to build and improve processes in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience as Controller, Assistant Controller, or Senior Accounting Manager.
• Hands-on knowledge of general ledger and month-end close.
• Lease accounting experience with ASC 842.
• Experience in multi-entity and complex environments.
• Proven track record building, improving, or cleaning up processes.
• Strong ERP and accounting systems experience.
• Ability to explain transaction flows in accounting systems.
• Comfort balancing technical accounting with business needs.

Responsibilities

We are partnering with a rapidly growing, multi-entity organization seeking an experienced Controller to lead day-to-day accounting operations and help strengthen the accounting infrastructure as the business continues to scale.

This is an ideal opportunity for a seasoned, hands-on accounting leader who enjoys building, improving, and solving. The right person will be comfortable leading a team while staying close to the details, partnering across the business, and bringing structure to a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

What You’ll Do

• Lead day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, AP, AR, month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Oversee accounting across a complex, multi-entity organization, including consolidations and intercompany activity
• Manage, mentor, and develop accounting professionals while remaining technically involved
• Lead the external audit process, including schedules, requests, and resolution of accounting matters
• Strengthen internal controls, SOPs, and accounting processes as the organization continues to grow
• Identify opportunities to improve the close process, automate workflows, and increase efficiency
• Support ERP implementations, system integrations, and accounting automation initiatives
• Partner closely with operations, payroll, purchasing, and other business functions to resolve issues and improve processes
• Support an evolving organization with acquisitions, integrations, and increasing accounting complexity

What We’re Looking For

• Approximately 15+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Previous experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, Senior Accounting Manager, or similar accounting leader
• Deep, hands-on knowledge of accounting operations, including the general ledger and month-end close
• Hands-on lease accounting experience, including working knowledge of ASC 842 and experience managing lease accounting either manually or through lease accounting software
• Strong experience working within multi-entity and complex accounting environments
• Proven success leading and developing accounting teams
• Experience managing external audits
• Demonstrated ability to build, improve, or clean up accounting processes
• Strong ERP and accounting systems experience
• Ability to understand and explain how transactions flow through accounting systems
• Comfortable balancing technical accounting requirements with practical business needs
