Job summary

ABB in North America is seeking a Senior Contract Manager to lead contract management services across projects in the Electrification Distribution Solutions business. You will review terms, participate in front-end negotiations, manage change orders, notices, and risk, and ensure compliance with policy and procedures.

The role requires collaboration with project teams, travel up to 20%, and working in a hybrid environment.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering, Business, or related field.
• 3–7 years of contracts, project management, and commercial roles.
• Familiarity with contract management tools and document control systems.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written communication; ability to draft contractual correspondence.

Responsibilities

• Lead contract management activities within assigned area per policies and procedures.
• Review commercial/technical tender terms and conditions.
• Attend weekly proposal team meetings to represent contract management perspective.
• Support front-end negotiations on language, pricing, payment terms, and scope definitions.
• Verify change order documentation for completeness and compliance with procedures.
• Manage the notices process for claims, delays, disputes, and insurance events.
• Attend PM meetings to monitor status and emerging issues; identify risks.
• Assist in preparing claim notifications and supporting documentation; log variations.
• Monitor contract compliance and ensure subcontract flow-down requirements are met.
• Assist drafting purchase orders and subcontracts with appropriate flow-down terms.
• Track subcontractor performance and flag issues to Senior Contract Manager.

Each day, you will ensure that the portfolio of contracts in the business follows contract and claim management methodologies in accordance with internal standard procedures. You will also showcase your expertise by reviewing and commenting on commercial and technical tender terms and conditions.The work model for the role is: #LI-hybridThis role is contributing to the Electrification Distribution Solutions in North America.You will be mainly accountable for:Proposal Team & Front-End NegotiationsAttend weekly proposal team meetings to represent the contract management perspective on commercial terms and conditions.Support front-end negotiations with customers and vendors on contractual language, pricing structures, payment terms, and scope definitions.Change Order & Notices SupportVerify change order documentation for completeness and compliance with contract procedures.Manage the notices process - monitor, log, and route all contractual notices (claims, delays, disputes, insurance events) to appropriate stakeholders.Project Execution & Risk IdentificationAttend weekly Project Manager team meetings and monthly project reviews to maintain visibility on project status and emerging issues.Claims & Entitlements SupportAssist in preparing claim notifications, supporting documentation, and correspondence under the direction of the Senior Contract Manager.
