Job summary

ABB, a global leader in power and automation, is seeking an Electrical Engineering graduate to prepare bids, estimates, and quotations aligned with customer specs and budgets. You will balance technical and commercial elements to maximize margins while maintaining quality and timeliness.

Based onsite in Pinetops, NC, you will manage tender documentation, liaise with disciplines, and ensure inputs are delivered per quality procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent required.
  • Experience with electrical systems design and power distribution analysis preferred.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and estimation tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Formulate competitive bids, estimates, and quotations based on customer specifications and costs.
  • Create well-documented tenders with full and accurate costs in a timely manner.
  • Lead the bid/estimate process, coordinating technical, financial, and project management aspects as needed.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to create and complete bids, estimations, and quotations based on customer specifications, requirements, or budget to achieve market competitiveness and high margins for the company. Each day, you will maintain and improve the balance between all ABB units and customers in your area of responsibility. You will also showcase your expertise by collecting and collating the information required to prepare proposals, including both technical and cost elements.The work model for the role is: Onsite, Pinetops, NC #LI-OnsiteThis role is contributing to the North American Grid Components in North America.You will be mainly accountable for:Formulating competitive bids, estimates, and quotations by considering the best available product mix and appropriate technical and commercial aspects for each situation.Creating well-documented tenders in a timely manner and with an appropriate level of detail, including full and accurate costs.Managing the preparation of technical, financial, and, if required, project management aspects of the bid, estimate, and quotation, indicating prices and trading conditions.Ensuring that inputs for editing activities related to bid, estimate, and quotation preparation are provided in a timely manner and in accordance with the established quality procedures.Qualifications for the roleYou are experienced in and excited about working with iproject management tools, estimation software, and ERP systems within the electrical equipment manufacturing and industrial automation market.You are eager to learn about all aspects of the proposal and manufacturing processesYou hold a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and have demonstrated proficiency in electrical systems design, power distribution analysis, and industrial automation fundamentalsMore about usABB's Distribution Solutions Division facilitates the efficient and reliable distribution, protection and control of power by improving electric power quality while strengthening the resilience of the grid.
