Job summary

Lumber Jack in New Baltimore, MI is seeking a sales-focused team member to assist contractors and professional customers with product knowledge and service. You will call on contractor accounts, coordinate jobsite deliveries, and write accurate orders using POS systems.

You should have 2–3 years of retail building materials experience, strong math and communication skills, and a solid understanding of lumber and homebuilding. This is a full-time, on-site role with benefits.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience selling building materials to professional contractors.
• Strong math, reading, writing and speaking skills.
• Personable, trustworthy, and with good organizational abilities.
• Knowledge of lumber, building materials, blueprint reading, homebuilding, and contractor sales preferred.
• Ability to lift and load up to 100 lbs and work in store/yards/sites.

Responsibilities

• Assist contractors, remodelers, industrial accounts, and other professional customers with product knowledge.
• Call on contractor customers and prospect for new business.
• Coordinate jobsite deliveries and ensure timely fulfillment with delivery staff.
• Maintain professional demeanor in person, by phone, text and email.
• Participate in local builder associations and support sales efforts.
• Prepare takeoffs and estimates for items needed for customer projects.
• Prepare quotes and recommend price adjustments to protect gross margins.
• Write orders using POS systems so orders are processed correctly.
