Job summary

The GEO Group Australia Pty Ltd. is seeking a physician to join a detention health program in California. The role requires providing primary care and internal medicine services to detainees, diagnosing a wide range of illnesses, and coordinating with specialists as needed.

You will maintain clear health records in an Electronic Health Records system, ensure confidentiality under federal and state laws, and participate in 24-hour on-call coverage and quality assurance activities.

Qualifications

• Medical degree from an accredited school and licensed to practice in the state.
• Board Certified/Board Eligible in primary care or related field preferred.
• Two years of direct work experience as a Physician.
• U.S.-based residency program required.
• Current DEA and DPS Certificate of Registration.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat detainees/inmates and manage overall patient care.
• Prescribe medications and coordinate with specialists as needed.
• Maintain comprehensive health records and ensure privacy compliance.
• Provide 24-hour on-call coverage and support nursing staff as required.
