Job summary

The GEO Group is seeking a Physician to serve as a primary care/internal medicine provider for detainees at an on-site facility. You will diagnose a wide range of illnesses and manage overall patient care, coordinating with specialists as needed and ensuring adherence to contractual obligations.

Responsibilities include exam/treatment, ordering tests, prescribing medications, maintaining health records, and providing 24-hour on-call coverage.

Qualifications

Medical degree in medicine from an accredited school and license to practice in the state where the facility is located.
Board Certified/Board Eligible in primary care or related field preferred.
Completion of a U.S.-based residency program required.
Current DEA and D.P.S. Certificate of Registration.
Professional license must remain on file at all times.

Responsibilities

Examine and treat detainees to ensure proper care, prevention of disease, diagnosis, treatment and recovery.
Provide medical treatment and order studies, tests and ancillary services.
Prescribe pharmaceuticals and monitor ongoing cases with education on vaccine use.
Discuss side effects with patients and maintain up-to-date allergy information.
Produce clear health records and correspondence, including EHRs.
Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with health privacy laws.
