Job summary

GEO Corrections & Detentions seeks an onsite physician to deliver primary care and internal medicine services to detainees. You will manage patient care, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and ensure timely documentation using electronic health records.

The role requires board certification considerations, US residency, and current DEA/DPS registration, with on-call coverage and adherence to privacy laws. This is a 16-hour weekly contract, on-site at the facility.

Qualifications

• Medical degree and state medical license in the facility state.
• Two years of direct work experience as a physician.
• Completion of a US-based residency program.
• Current DEA and DPS registration.
• Ability to work with Electronic Health Records and security constraints.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat detainees across a wide range of illnesses.
• Provide 24-hour on-call coverage and ensure proper records.
• Prescribe medications and manage treatment plans.
• Collaborate with hospital team and specialists.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to privacy laws.
