Job summary

Barrette Workforce Solutions, LLC in Newberg, OR is seeking a Phlebotomist for a 3-month contract with potential for permanent hire. Schedule is M–F, 7am–3:30pm with rotating Saturdays (one Saturday every 4–5 weeks).

The role involves blood draws, labeling and processing specimens, data entry, and ensuring specimen integrity and safety following protocol and OSHA guidelines. Prior venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital is required.

Qualifications

• Valid phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explains the venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients.
• Demonstrates technique with straight or butterfly needles.
• Ensure test requisitions match specimens and package specimens for transport.
