Eden Capital Careers in Shelby, NC seeks a contract Phlebotomist to support the lab for approximately 3 months with potential for permanent placement. Schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, with benefits available.

The ideal candidate has a valid phlebotomy certification, at least 6 months of venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital, and is proficient with Microsoft Office. Primary duties include blood draws, specimen labeling, and proper transport of samples.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the employing state
• Minimum 6 months venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital
• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum 1 year of experience

Responsibilities

• Blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging, maintaining data, decontamination, updating patient information
• Collects and stores specimens per procedures; explains venipuncture process clearly
• Demonstrate technique with straight and butterfly needles
• Match requisitions to tubes; label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required
• Check test requisitions against scripts for correctness
• Package specimens for transport; store per required temperature
• Understand OSHA and DEP regulations; attend trainings
• Answer calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries
