Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where employed.
• Minimum of 6 months' venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital.
• High school diploma or GED; proficient with MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination.
• Collects and stores specimens per established procedures; explains venipuncture clearly to patients.
• Demonstrates technique with straight/butterfly needles; matches requisitions to tubes.
• Package specimens for transport and ensure proper labeling and temperature control.
• Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations; attend annual trainings.
