Job summary

Henderson Group Recruiting is seeking a Phlebotomist for a contract assignment in Glens Falls, NY. Schedule: Mon-Fri 7:30am-4:30pm, plus every other Saturday 7am-12pm. Projected duration: 3 months with potential for permanent hire.

Responsibilities include performing blood draws, labeling, centrifuging, maintaining data, and ensuring specimen integrity. Requires 2+ years phlebotomy experience and valid state certification.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain the venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients as required.
• Demonstrate technique using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Understand physicians' orders and match requisition forms to tubes.
• Label, centrifuge, and split specimens as required by test orders.
• Package specimens for transport and store according to required temperatures.
• Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations and attend annual trainings.
• Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.
