Job summary

Top Echelon Software, LLC. locates a Phlebotomist in Glens Falls, NY for a contract opportunity. Schedule is Mon-Fri 7:30am-4:30pm with every other Saturday 7am-12pm, projected for 3 months with potential for permanent placement.

Responsibilities include blood draws, specimen labeling, processing, data recording, and ensuring proper transport and storage. Minimum 6 months venipuncture experience and a valid phlebotomy certification are required. Benefits available.

Qualifications

• Valid phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explains the venipuncture process clearly and courteously.
• Demonstrates techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Ensures all test requisitions or computer labels match scripts for accuracy.
• Packages specimens for transport and stores samples per required temperatures.
• Complies with OSHA and DEP regulations and attends annual trainings.
• Answer telephone calls and read lab results to satisfy inquiries.
