Job summary

Genie Matthews and Associates in Baltimore, MD is seeking a contract phlebotomist for a 3-month assignment with potential for permanent hire. Schedule includes Mon-Fri 8:30am-5pm and one Saturday per month 8:00am-2:30pm.

Responsibilities include blood draws, labeling and centrifuging specimens, accurate data recording, proper transport packaging, and clear communication of the venipuncture process. OSHA/DEP regulations must be followed.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of diagnostic phlebotomy experience required.
• Pediatric to geriatric experience required.
• Valid phlebotomy certification for the state of employment; 6 months venipuncture in fast-paced lab or hospital.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging and recording maintenance data.
• Decontamination, updating patient information, and proper packaging for transport.
• Explain venipuncture process clearly and demonstrate technique with needles.
• Match requisitions to specimen tubes and ensure 100% correct labeling.
• Attend annual department trainings and comply with OSHA/DEP regulations.
