Job summary

Top Echelon Software, LLC is seeking a qualified phlebotomist in Glens Falls, NY to join a contract role with potential for permanent conversion. The position runs Monday through Friday, 7:30am–4:30pm, with every other Saturday 7am–12pm.

Responsibilities include blood draws, labeling and processing specimens, centrifuging, and maintaining accurate patient data. Requires OSHA/DEP compliance, documentation, and effective communication with patients and staff.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures and explains venipuncture process to patients.
• Demonstrates technique using straight needles and/or butterfly needles and follows physician orders.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order; pack specimens for transport.
• Stores specimen samples per temperature requirements and complies with OSHA/DEP regulations.
