Accounting Search in Colonial Heights, VA seeks a Phlebotomist for a 3-month contract with potential for permanent placement. Schedule is 7:45am-4:30pm, Monday through Friday. The role involves blood draws, specimen labeling, and adherence to OSHA/DEP protocols. Benefits are available.

Minimum qualifications include a state phlebotomy certification and at least 6 months of venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting, plus a high school diploma or GED.

Qualificações

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.

Responsabilidades

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures. Explains the venipuncture process clearly and courteously.
• Demonstrate technique/s using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Understand physicians' orders, match requisition forms to specimens, label, centrifuge, and preserve specimens as required by test order.
• Check all test requisitions for accuracy and proper labeling.
• Package specimens for transport and store them per required temperature conditions.
• Attend annual department trainings.
• Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.
