Job summary

CorSource Technology Group, a locally owned technical staffing and recruiting firm in Portland, Oregon, seeks an Engineering Operations Specialist to support the Materials Management (NSLM) within Logistics Management. This contract assignment involves coordinating materials, validating BOMs, and collaborating with CORs, PMs, and project teams to ensure timely delivery and compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields preferred.
• 5 years of engineering operations experience required.
• Knowledge of engineering operations policies and procedures involving material and equipment inventory and control.

Responsibilities

• Review Bills of Materials, availability of Government Furnished Materials (GFM) and Material Request (MR) Order Status Reports for long lead items to validate materials for project(s) are ordered and will be available at time of construction Notice to Proceed (NTP).
• Provide construction contractor with detailed lists of project materials and quantities required.
• Provide external stakeholder a written/verbal overview of technical specifications regarding material procedures.
• Run pre-defined reports to identify materials that will not be available for project and notify project team including contractor.
• Alert PM and/or project team of material issues and keep updated during resolution.
• Assist in expediting materials, tracking down missing or incomplete shipments, and resolving material availability issues.
• Monitor MR Need Dates; coordinate with Ross Warehouse to facilitate pickup or shipping of materials.
• Coordinate, facilitate and schedule release of materials to construction contractor(s).
• Work with Receiving, Shipping and Contract Specialists to ensure inventories are filled and transported on schedule.
• Create inventory worksheets for use during a physical inventory.
• Create MRs as needed for identified items and quantities.
• Process material returns and coordinate with IRC for future utilization or disposal.
• Monitor/materials usage and cost details; suggest chargebacks if applicable.
• Attend meetings and provide material status updates to project teams and contractors.
• Extract BES, Asset Suite and PowerBI reports and analyze material charges; resolve discrepancies.
• Contribute to NSLM improvement by proposing new procedures and training.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, supply and logistics management, construction management or engineering or closely-related technical field
