Job summary

Soliant is seeking a Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) Specialist on a contract basis to support students with diverse communication needs. You will work with teachers, interpreters, and families to adapt instructional approaches and foster inclusive learning environments.

The role offers flexibility between on-site and virtual settings, enabling meaningful impact while supporting students’ academic growth and self-advocacy.

Qualifications

• Must hold valid teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education.
• Experience supporting students with hearing loss in school settings.
• Strong collaboration with teams including general education teachers, interpreters, and families.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and consultative instructional support to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in a variety of academic subjects.
• Implement IEPs, adapting curriculum and instruction based on student needs.
• Use technology and assistive devices to maximize communication access.
• Serve as a resource for staff and families, offering training and strategies promoting inclusion.
• Cultivate a supportive classroom environment that respects students’ identities.
• Maintain ongoing, clear communication with families, teachers, and related service providers.
