Job summary

Qualifications

• Valid credential in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education (DHH Specialist or Teacher certification required).
• Experience supporting students with varying degrees of hearing loss, from preschool through age 22.
• Comprehensive knowledge of individualized education plans (IEPs), assessment, and assistive technology.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills for partnership with educators, families, and service providers.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement specialized instruction tailored to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students.
• Serve a caseload of 2028 students distributed among 15 school sites.
• Conduct thorough assessments and participate in IEP meetings, contributing expert recommendations and data.
• Provide support, resources, and consultation to general education staff, fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
• Monitor student progress, adjusting teaching strategies to maximize success and independence.
• Integrate the use of amplification devices and other assistive technology as appropriate.
