Job summary

Gray Media seeks a Manager of Content and Ingest to lead daily ingest operations, ensuring high-quality content delivery across the Centralcast Hub in Midtown Atlanta. You will guide a skilled team through recording, QC, trimming, and timing/data entry into automation systems.

You will collaborate with local stations and program suppliers, maintain SOPs, and oversee scheduling for 24/7 coverage. A strong background in broadcast workflows and hands-on editing will help ensure broadcast readiness.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership in fast-paced broadcast operations.
• 3+ years of experience in broadcast operations at a television station or similar.
• Hands-on experience with Grass Valley Morpheus, Crispin Automation, and DBI Automation.
• Knowledge of current media file formats, delivery platforms, and transcoding workflows, including Telestream Vantage.
• Solid understanding of content ingest workflows, asset management, and quality control across multiple platforms.
• Experience developing, documenting, and implementing SOPs, escalation protocols, and emergency response plans.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, with the ability to explain technical info to diverse audiences.
• Cross-team collaboration and ability to build strong working relationships across departments.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities without sacrificing quality.
• Schedule flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays in a 24/7 operation.
• Positive, solutions-focused attitude under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Leads and directs the ingest team in daily functions including recording, QC, trimming, and operation of broadcast equipment.
• Serves as primary contact between Centralcast Hub, local stations, and program suppliers to secure content ahead of air times.
• Performs core ingest functions alongside the team and records timing and metadata into automation databases.
• Manages staff scheduling and assigns operational tasks for 24/7 coverage across shifts.
• Assists in maintenance and monitoring of server functions to ensure reliable content workflow.
• Collaborates with supervisors and traffic to resolve content or scheduling issues promptly.
• Ensures ingest operations meet technical standards, broadcast specs, and internal procedures.
• Provides hands-on relief for Ingest Operators during peak periods or absences.
• Performs basic video editing to meet broadcast readiness standards as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned to support hub operations.
