Job summary

Husch Blackwell LLP seeks a Consumer Finance Litigation Associate in Springfield, MO, with an option for a virtual office (The Link). The role favors candidates licensed in CA, FL, NJ, NY, or OH, but accepts qualified applicants in other markets as well.

Responsibilities include defending financial-services clients in courts, handling consumer-protection and mortgage-related disputes, and coordinating with the Financial Services & Capital Markets team.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of litigation experience defending financial-services companies.
• Experience with consumer-protection statutes such as FCRA, FDCPA and RESPA.
• Prior work representing mortgage servicers/originators in foreclosures or title disputes.
• Active bar license in the state of the office applied to (or commitment to obtain).
• For virtual-office candidates, bar license in the state of residence required.
• Strong academic credentials and ability to handle multiple projects under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Defend financial-services clients in state and federal courts.
• Handle litigation involving consumer-protection statutes and mortgage-related disputes.
• Collaborate with attorneys in the Financial Services & Capital Markets unit.
• Develop and articulate legal strategies, manage case files, and meet client deadlines.
