The Consulate General of Canada in Dallas is seeking to staff a term Consular Coordinator position with an end date of August 2028 within the Consular Program. This selection process may also be used to create a pool of qualified candidates to staff similar administrative positions (indeterminate, term, or temporary) that may arise following this selection process.
Working closely with the Senior Consular Officer, the Consular Coordinator supports the effective delivery of consular and emergency passport services to Canadian citizens residing in or travelling within the mission’s territory of Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas.
The position provides coordination and administrative support for consular cases and passport services, including reviewing and processing documentation, maintaining and following up on cases, responding to client enquiries, and providing information and assistance to Canadians. This includes supporting Canadians facing difficult, complex or sensitive circumstances, such as medical emergencies, arrest or detention, victims of crime or violence, missing persons, children and family situations, urgent financial circumstances, and lost or stolen travel documents.
The Consular Coordinator also supports the day-to-day coordination of consular activities, liaises with local authorities and service providers, and contributes to emergency response and other Consular Program priorities as required.
This selection process is open to applicants who reside in Texas, Oklahoma, or Louisiana, are legally authorized to work in the United States, meet all of the essential qualifications, and submit a complete application by the closing date. Current employees of the Canadian Embassy, Permanent Missions, Consulates General, or Trade Offices in the United States are eligible to apply regardless of their current residence, provided they reside in the Dallas area at the time of appointment.
