Job summary

AXA XL, the P&C and specialty risk division of AXA, is seeking an Underwriter to tailor Construction Professional accounts for our clients in the United States. You will apply your underwriting expertise to develop targeted solutions with input from industry veterans who average 15+ years in construction risk management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required with advanced education and/or professional designations preferred.
• Experience in construction professional accounts underwriting preferred.
• Ability to work self-directed and be a team player.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills for internal teams and external brokers.

Responsibilities

• Market to producers to secure new and renewal business.
• Review applications, terms and conditions, statement of values, loss history and catastrophe modeling and determine risk.
• Coordinate with Actuarial, Claims, Reinsurance, Accounting, Marketing, Regulatory and others internally.
• Determine quote or declination of risk.
• Calculate rates and premiums using approved rating models.
• Develop and modify policy wording with delegated underwriting authority.
• Actively cross-sell afforded products and services.
• Mentor, supervise and motivate underwriters and underwriting assistants.
• Lead special projects as assigned by senior management.
