Job summary

AXA XL in San Francisco is seeking an experienced construction underwriter to tailor risk solutions for large clients and to partner with brokers to grow new business and renewals. You will report to the Underwriting Manager and leverage deep underwriting expertise to craft bespoke policies while mentoring colleagues.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive best practices, client service, and continued growth in a fast-paced, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• Extensive underwriting experience with knowledge of underwriting, rating methods, forms, and processes.
• Experience with large accounts is a plus.
• Able to build and maintain relationships with customers, producers and partners.

Responsibilities

• Develop tailor-made risk transfer solutions and services following underwriting guidelines.
• Prospect and quote new business, fostering broker relationships.
• Evaluate risk premiums considering cost, reinsurance, and admin costs.
• Close new business and renewals using strong sales and negotiation skills.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to pursue cross-selling opportunities.
• Manage timely implementation of new and renewal accounts (referrals, quotes, binders, reinsurance, policies, services).
• Advise clients on insurance and risk management to ensure satisfaction.
• Mentor less experienced colleagues and share underwriting knowledge.
