Job summary

AXA XL, the P&C and specialty risk division of AXA, is seeking a senior construction underwriter in the United States to tailor high-touch risk solutions for large clients and work with industry experts to deliver customized coverage.

You will evaluate risk, manage producer relationships, and guide initiatives from quote to renewal, while mentoring teammates and sharing underwriting best practices. Join a team that emphasizes client service and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Extensive underwriting experience with thorough technical knowledge of underwriting, rating methodologies, forms and business processes.
• Strong ability to develop and maintain relationships with customers, producers and trading partners.
• Bachelor's degree preferred; CPCU/ARM certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop tailor-made risk transfer and service solutions per underwriting guidelines.
• Procure new business opportunities through marketing strategies with brokers and clients.
• Evaluate risk premium considering risk costs and reinsurance to ensure profitability.
• Utilize sales and negotiation skills to close new business and renewals.
• Collaborate with other units to uncover cross-selling opportunities.
• Oversee timely implementation of new/renewal accounts (quotes, binders, referrals).
• Advise clients on insurance and risk management and respond to AXA XL queries.
• Mentor less experienced colleagues and share underwriting knowledge.
• Lead continuous improvement projects benefiting Property and the broader organization.
• Maintain strong relationships with renewal clients to understand needs.
