Qualifications

• Extensive underwriting experience with knowledge of underwriting, rating methodologies, forms and processes.
• Large account experience is a plus.
• Ability to develop and maintain relationships with customers, producers and trading partners.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred; CPCU, ARM a plus.
• Excellent analytical skills.
• Excellent communication, marketing, presentation and negotiation skills.
• Solid leadership and management skills.
• Excellent decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop tailor-made solutions using risk transfer and service-related products, in accordance with underwriting guidelines to enhance client and broker experience.
• Procure new business opportunities through marketing strategies around supporting key brokers and meeting prospective clients.
• Evaluate risk premium considering risk costs, reinsurance cessions and administration costs for profitability.
• Utilize sales and negotiating skills to close new business and renewal transactions.
• Collaborate internally with other business units to pursue cross-selling opportunities.
• Oversee timely implementation of new and renewal accounts, including referrals, quotes, binders, facultative reinsurance, policies, and engineering services.
• Advise and service clients on insurance and risk management matters to ensure client satisfaction.
• Coach and mentor junior colleagues and share underwriting knowledge.
• Foster renewal relationships with clients through pre-renewal and stewardship engagements.
