Job summary

McGrath Rent Corp. is seeking a Construction Technician in Portland, OR to perform general maintenance, remodeling, and site preparation for customer-ready buildings. The role involves using hand and power tools on a daily basis, with emphasis on safety and quality workmanship.

The position requires experience in construction, ability to work outdoors in varying weather, and lifting up to 50 pounds. You will work Monday through Friday during the day, with opportunities to contribute to 6S/Lean

Qualifications

• Prior experience in construction or related work required.
• Able to work outside in variable weather conditions.
• Ability to use both manual and power tools and follow operating guidelines.
• Ability to use mathematics to calculate length, width, depth, etc.
• Ability to follow spoken and written instruction in a fast paced construction environment with minimal guidance from leads or supervisors.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Installation of structures or fixtures per plan using hand or power tools.
• Perform maintenance and repairs in plumbing, carpentry, painting, flooring, ceiling and electrical tasks.
• Construct or remodel modular buildings.
• Demolish, replace or construct walls including framing and drywall.
• Light electrical work—bulbs, wiring, switches, outlets.
• Light plumbing work—install/remove pipes and fixtures.
• General cleaning and material preparation.
• Shape materials to specified measurements per plans.
• Participate in 6S and Lean initiatives.
• Monday-Friday Dayshift
• Performs other duties as assigned
