Job summary

McGrath RentCorp is seeking a Construction Technician to perform general maintenance, remodeling, and preparation of buildings for delivery to customer sites. The role requires hands-on work with structural elements and fixtures using hand and power tools, following plans and codes.

You will handle plumbing, carpentry, painting, flooring, and electrical tasks, plus light demolition and finishing work. The position emphasizes safety, accuracy, and teamwork in a fast-paced construction setting.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in construction or related work required.
• Ability to use mathematics to calculate measurements for construction.
• Able to work outside in variable weather conditions.
• Ability to use both manual and power tools and follow operating guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Install structures or fixtures using hand or power tools per plan and code.
• Perform maintenance, repairs and construction in plumbing, carpentry, painting, flooring, ceiling and electrical.
• Perform construction work related to remodeling or modifying modular buildings.
• Demolish, replace or construct walls, including framing, drywall and finish-out.
• Light electrical work; switches and outlets.
• Light plumbing work; install new plumbing pipes and fixtures.
• General cleaning and site preparation.
• Shape or cut materials to specified measurements per plans.
• Participate in 6S and Lean initiatives.
• Monday-Friday Dayshift.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
