About the Role

Our client, a well-established construction firm specializing in infrastructure development, is seeking a reliable and proactive Construction Supervisor to join their team in Queenstown, Eastern Cape . This role is crucial for overseeing the day-to-day operations on construction sites, ensuring that projects are executed efficiently, safely, and in line with design specifications. You will be responsible for supervising site crews, coordinating activities, and ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards. Key Responsibilities

Supervise and direct the work of construction crews on site, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to standard. Interpret construction plans and specifications, guiding the team in their implementation. Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations on the construction site. Monitor daily progress of construction activities and report any deviations or issues to the Site Manager or Project Manager. Coordinate the use of equipment and materials, ensuring adequate supply and proper utilization. Conduct regular site inspections to maintain quality control and identify potential hazards. Assist in managing subcontractors and ensuring their work aligns with project requirements. Maintain daily logs of site activities, personnel, and resource usage. Promote a safe and productive work environment for all site personnel. Respond effectively to site challenges and implement timely solutions.

Requirements

A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a construction supervisory role or as a skilled tradesperson with leadership experience. Proven ability to manage and motivate a construction team. Good understanding of construction methods, materials, and safety procedures. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. Familiarity with relevant South African building codes and safety regulations. Basic knowledge of site management and planning principles. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively under pressure and solve problems on site. Must be physically capable of performing site inspections and potentially some manual labor. Willingness to work on‑site in Queenstown, Eastern Cape .
