Placements24 is seeking a Resident Electrical Engineer to supervise electrical works on a major infrastructure project in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. The role requires hands-on oversight of on-site installations to ensure compliance with designs, standards, and safety regulations.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 6 years of experience in electrical site supervision, strong leadership and communication skills, and the ability to interpret drawings and specifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent professional qualification.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in electrical site supervision and project execution.
• Experience on large-scale infrastructure or construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of electrical installation practices and relevant South African standards.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor all electrical construction and installation activities on site.
• Ensure all electrical work complies with approved drawings, specifications, and relevant standards.
• Conduct regular site inspections and quality control checks.
• Review and approve contractor submittals, method statements, and work programs.
• Identify and report any site issues, deviations, or non-conformances.
• Manage electrical testing, commissioning, and handover processes.
• Liaise with project managers, contractors, and the client's representatives.
• Maintain site records, including daily reports, progress records, and safety logs.
• Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations on site.

About the Role

Our client, a major engineering consultancy firm, is seeking a diligent Resident Electrical Engineer to oversee electrical works on a significant infrastructure project located in **Queenstown, Eastern Cape**. This role requires a hands-on approach, ensuring that all electrical installations and systems on-site adhere to design specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in site supervision and electrical project execution.
