Job summary

JE Dunn seeks a Superintendent 2 to plan, manage and execute projects with some complexity. You will oversee safety, staffing, scheduling and coordination with owners, design teams and subcontractors to deliver on time and on budget.

The role demands 5+ years in construction, strong leadership and knowledge of lean methods; bachelor’s degree is preferred. Travel may be required, and you will lead daily standups, manage costs, and ensure quality through QA/QC processes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred for advanced roles.
• Experience: 5+ years in construction with field supervision.
• Knowledge of lean principles and safety culture; ability to manage subcontractors.
• Strong leadership, communication and budgeting skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety culture and ensure injury-free environment.
• Manage subcontractors and overall workflow of the job.
• Oversee staff, subcontractors, suppliers and programs (Safety, Quality, EEO).
• Develop work plans for subcontractors and self-performed work.
• Coordinate and manage project site care, custody, and control.
• Lead meetings (daily standups, weekly trade meetings, OAC meetings).
• Create and manage project schedule and track costs in PM system.
• Ensure quality compliance through specifications, QA/QC, and audits.
• Support project closeouts and coordination with owner, architect, and authorities.
• Identify schedule and cost changes; negotiate with owners/architects.
