Job summary

Suffolk Construction is seeking a proactive Superintendent to oversee all day-to-day on-site activities and ensure safety, quality, and schedule adherence across the project. You will direct field personnel, coordinate with the Project Manager, and maintain strong client relationships while managing trade partners and documentation.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and 4+ years in construction, with the ability to lead teams, manage risk, and adapt to evolving project demands.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in applicable discipline and experience relative to project size/scope.
• 4+ years of experience in related construction fields.
• The ability to manage and embrace change. Respond and adapt to new processes and new ways of looking at old problems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee, manage, and document all day-to-day job site activities including OSHA safety compliance.
• Direct field personnel according to the project plan and Suffolk supervisory principles.
• Communicate issues, events, performance, and progress daily to the Project Manager.
• Report any problems promptly to the Project Manager to facilitate the most cost-effective solutions.
• Establish effective working relationships with clients and Suffolk team members.
• Project Start-Up/Turnover Meeting: identify pre-mobilization activities and develop start-up schedule.
• Scheduling: assist in formulating and implementing construction schedules and maintain the baseline schedule.
• Safety: ensure subcontractors participate in safety meetings and maintain safety plans and insurance.
