Job summary

Turner Construction Company in Memphis, TN seeks an experienced Environmental Health & Safety professional to lead site safety on a single construction project. This salaried exempt role focuses on enforcing EH&S programs, training teams, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

The position requires a Bachelor’s in Safety/Engineering or related field, CHST certification, OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR, strong leadership, and excellent communication skills. Travel to the project site is involved.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from accredited degree program in Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, or related field; minimum 4 years of safety experience.
• CHST certification required or within 2 years of appointment.
• OSHA 30-hour training and maintain First Aid/CPR/BBP and AED certifications.
• Knowledge of Federal, State, and local EH&S regulations.
• Demonstrated leadership, teamwork, and strong communication skills.
• Travel required, access to reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Lead EH&S on a single construction project per HQ policy.
• Manage time and resource allocation and provide safety leadership.
• Assess safety practices, develop action plans to mitigate risks, and drive improvements.
• Communicate requirements to project leadership and teams for adoption of changes.
• Develop training for project site-specific EH&S programs and educate staff and subcontractors.
• Promote safe work practices and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Maintain relationships with project staff and subcontractor safety reps.
• Review subcontractor safety programs and Pre-Task Plans for compliance.
• Hold preconstruction safety meetings and review risk mitigation plans.
