Job summary

Turner Construction invites applications for a Safety Intern position in Austin, TX. Based in the Austin Main division, you will assist with safety programs on construction projects and in the office under supervisor guidance.

You will support inspections, training sessions, and documentation of safety activities, while gaining exposure to OSHA processes and environmental considerations within a leading construction environment.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a college program in safety/engineering with at least 1 year completed.
• Basic knowledge of safety and environmental principles.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime.
• Effective verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Assist with implementing Building LIFE (Living Injury Free Everyday) safety program on site or in the office.
• Identify and report safety violations or unsafe practices.
• Coordinate safety duties for committees, preplanning meetings, and toolbox talks.
• Coordinate training at safety meetings, toolbox talks, and orientations.
• Review subcontractor safety programs for compliance with company policies.
